Watercolor Tutorial

How to use the watercolor pencil crayons!!
What you need:

1.Watercolor paper: I use 140Lb Fabriano water color paper
2.Permanent Ink: I use black Staz-On
3.Blending stumps, a little dish with Odourless Mineral Spirits (OMS)

4. And of course your desired stamp-The ones I used for my image was from HUMBLE PIE of course.

Then you stamp up the image I will show you the snowman now I picked the left side to add color in because of the tree that’s at the left side that would cause the snowman to get the shade.
I then outlined the image with my pencil crayon. Then in using my blending stump I dipped it just enough into the OMS and in circular motions brought the color out .I never shade it in all the way then color JUST outline its all you need then if you feel it needs more you outline a little more.
Also when watercoloring always start with your lightest shade then go darker . If you have only one blending stump on hand and you are changing over to a new color then keep a sanding block on hand this will do two things:1) it sands off excess color before moving onto a new one and 2) it also sharpens the blending stump.

I find this is one of my favorite techniques and I am hoping that I get a 130 piece set for wcolor pencil Crayons for a gift this year however i am quite content not to get a single thing. Whether they buy it or i do it won't make a big difference.

I hope you all have a great week.

Beginning to Look alot like Christmas!!

Its beginning to look alot like Christmas and we haven't put up our tree yet.But the kids are getting anxious. Here is another KK post...sorry about the shadow coming onto the card. This little cutie and friend is a KKimmie image and as i start to use these stamps to promote the stamps i carry in my store The Town Scrapper i am starting to find a new love for these stamps.and because i have been rekindling the friendship between me and Tombow Markers i find myself to grab a stamp that has finer details which i find harder to use with wcolor pencil crayons.
I brought the light in from the right side.I layered the peticoat first without 3'ding it then i colored the scarf and coat and 3d'd that it was fun and challenging.

And you can see the 3d'd coat alot closer.I picked purple and blue because it was what was on my table and my goal is to see how much i can use what i have and trust me i have ALOT!!
Have A GREAT DAY!!

Building with Love!!

OK so you may have seen this picture before....it was made during christmas vaca last year.My Husband brilliant and wonderful and extremely smart built a snowman his height 6'7....Well when the kids tried to put the scarf ,eyes nose etc,on for some reason they couldn't reach.....but as i pointed this out to them everyone else was excited to be out there with their dad oblivious to the height discrepancy. So this day Another snowman was built with VERY much love and enthusiasm. This stamp is by Wags and Whiskers,I ordered 2 because 1 was a gift.My girls are each getting one in their stocking but different wags and whiskers images....can't wait till they let me borrow them....i am itchin to ink them up and Let me tell ya do they ever ink up beauuutifully.
So i inked these cuties up using Black Staz-On Ink,90Lb hot-press frosted wcolor paper.I pulled out my Tombow Water-based markers, paintbrush, and distilled water....now i am not trying to draw attention to my error but if you look closely you will see what happened some red ran into the blue on the snowman but guess what it was not an easy fix so a lesson to learn is to be careful of the darker colors that you only need a smidge of.

This little cutie looks like it is being built with sooo much love.Again i used paper out of my scrap bin.The patterned paper is WRMKeepers,The cardstock is Bazill Wine Bling, the brads are by The Paper Studio, and the flower is actually from my stash and its Making Memories Noteworthy Blossoms.
And so i wish you ALL A VERY BLISSFUL AND HAPPY WEEK,

Hope your Holidays are TOASTY!!

I can hardly wait to post this.I am planning to enter this into KK challenge.

AnyHoo I was dying to finish off some of that scrap paper in my bin and so, this We R Memory Keepers paper (it was the only piece left) was begging me to be used so i said to myself how creative can i be.I did my best to make this festive by using tombow markers that were holiday colors.I mean can we make almost any color of marker festive.....SURE we can. I stamped this guy on Hot-Press 90Lb wcolor frosted paper.I used Black Staz-On Ink,a paintbrush and distilled water.

I used glossy accents for the inside of the ears and the nose...I added stickle to the flame and on the bottom of the toasted marshmallow....festive right?Of Course!!The brads and flowers are by Prima and i used kaiserscrapbooking Rhinestones....I used things that all went together that were all part of my stash....I have a serious bad habit wanting to use new stuff. The buttons are by the Paper Studio. Also part of my stash.

The marshmallow was to me the most important part...it needed to look toasty i used very careful delicate colors...i am pleased with how it turned out.Well i do wish you All a very festive ,warm, and "TOASTY" Holiday!!
By the way toasty is the sentiment that you will get with this cutie.

Have a GREAT Day!!

Happy Birthday "DEER" Friend!!

Another Kraftin Kimmie Card!!As I pulled this stamp with the excuse that i needed cards with these cuties .My goal was to use paper without cutting into new sheets....VERY hard for me to do.I wcolored this deer with tombow markers,a paintbrush and Distilled water.I inked my image using Black Staz-On Ink and stamped the image on 90Lb hot press wcolor frosted paper.

I used primas---hydrangeas....brads by paper studio and believe it or not absolutely no glitter but i did add some self-adhesived rhinestones by Kaiserscrapbook. This was a very fast yet simple card.I had absolute intentions of 3ding the actual image but i was watching a movie and cardmaking at the same time and i kafafalled.I was so dissappointed with myself....keep posted for a 4th Kraftin' Kimmie which also can be bought here at the TownScrapper!

Have a GREAT Day!!

Furever Friends!

Friendship is a delicate thing to mesh.....through the years you come to find out how easily pleased you are.I am the type who likes an upfront honest relationship.I like it when someone can just say it without fear and with kindness and who can accept that back with laughter.I have a friend who is very much gentle yet forthright. And through time she has become a very dear friend.Through the years i have had friendships that consisted of goofiness, laughter, and great times and even if we do not see each other due to distance etc they are full of fond memories. And i do love my friends and try not to take them for granted. I have had friends right there with each other through thick and thin( and i mean thick cause i am most definitely not thin) and sometimes we were an odd couple. And even our husbands are friends we will be forever friends with. These are wonderful growing relationships. My most growing relationship has been with God and this more with time. And with time i grow in a knowledgeable way.

I colored these cuties with wcolor Tombow markers, using distilled water,a paintbrush, and 90lb frosted hot press wcolor paper .I inked it up using black staz-On ink.I used my lighting coming in from the right side. This is another of Kraftin Kimmies's first release. This stamp is named Roxy and Bernice. I am trying to use stamps that have recieved great review but that I have no cards of.So I will have 2 more for you that are of KK's Stamps.

The patterned paper is Pebbles Inc. The cardstock bazill orange sherbert bling. The Brads are Spare Parts by the Paper studio and flowers are Prima Sugar Daisy. The metal flower is from my stash.I also added stickles to the flower that that Bernice is holding.

Have a GREAT Week,

Phebe
